I'm as excited as you are about this revival. My one teeny, tiny reservation is about the quality / tone / timbre of Audra's voice for the score. Not so much her capability -- she's obviously one of the most gifted vocalists working in the theatre today. It's just that -- very often -- I find her tone when she tries to tackle brassier / beltier material a bit shrill.

But, I will say, on paper, I did not 'get' her casting as Billie Holiday at all for the same reason and she wowed me with those Holiday vocals. The difference, of course, is that she can't put such a strong affectation here without it looking silly. But, whatever, even if my (relatively minor) worries are right, she's going to act the hell out of this role and I don't think they could have picked a better star/director paring this revival. I just hope they have a full orchestra!
