| ...whom I assume you didn't see and I know I'm in the minority, but I loved. Your insightful post reminds me how thrilling it is to be surprised by the unexpected things an actor such as McDonald brings to a role -- things we can only imagine at this point. Until I saw Peters, for instance, it had never occurred to me what heartbreaking insight a former child performer might have into the role of Mama Rose. I had to actually be there to feel it and I expect the same will be true for this new "Gypsy." |
