I think that for sure Radcliffe specifically not being in those weeks had a sales impact, and his fans of course want to go when he's in it.
But I think we can't discount the potential effect of having marketing and critics talk so much about *all 3 of the leads together*, that that is what's so special, that is what the show is about and what this production offers the most magic in. And especially at the prices they're asking. I'm not a diehard Radcliffe fan, but I definitely would have waited until all 3 were scheduled to be in.
So while surely it reflects his draw, I think there's a lot of be said for the fact that if any of them, or at least either of the 2 famous ones, were out, it would be a bigger impact than just people wanting to see that one person, because of the nature of the buzz for this show. |
