| I can’t speak for anyone else but I wasn’t saying they felt like cabaret songs, I was saying when I’ve heard some of these songs out of context in concert/cabaret settings they were infinitely more moving than they were in this production. And that is no fault of the leads, who were all excellent, but of how the material, overall, didn’t work for me personally and didn’t make me care about or feel invested in the lives of these distinctly unlikeable characters. |
