I think it was brave and bold for A Strange Loop to move to Broadway, and it did get them the Best Musical award (among others). And a nomination for my friend and former student John-Andrew Morrison. It was a relatively short run, but it didn't close overnight either. I doubt they ever expected it to become a commercial success - the subject matter is a little too raw for that I think. But it's an important piece. It just got its first Boston regional production (excellent), and even a spot on the recent Boston Pops Broadway concert (which hopefully is being broadcast on the radio on Saturday night).

Girl From The North Country has been touring. I had hoped better for Mr. Saturday Night, but like Paradise Square, it seems like that show has faded away.

But yes, Six certainly was going to be a big draw (I sensed that back in 2019 when I saw the Boston run at ART), and despite the controversy, I'm also not surprised about MJ's success.
