| I think the lyric would make perfect sense - yes, she's already found her love, but we get the idea. And with the final vows happening at the ceremony, I think singing about "your own true love this day" is very apt. People who don't know the song will probably think the "sheep's eye / lickerish tooth" references to be a little out there, but that goes for lots of people in context of the show too. :-) (Never mind that Loesser chose "lickerish" as a cognate of "lecherous" lol.) |
