| I saw that production at the Haymarket. The stress in the audience increased palpably as minutes ticked by in Act 1 with no sight of the star. There was a collective sigh of relief when she arrived, only for the Act 1 curtain to fall immediately. I found it hilarious how the audience expectation was thwarted, but the production was directed so stodgily that this was my only pleasure in the whole evening. |
