but id rather name a theater with a living legend. Neil Simon, Sondheim and Jones were alive when the theaters named after them were named. I wonder if many people going to the Lunt-Fontanne know who they are now besides theater geeks. Barrymore is probably more famous only because of Drew. As much as i would love an Angela Lansbury or Chita Rivera, i think the time has passed. Lena Horn theater was named 12 years after she died and i think it should have been named after Angela or Chita.
I'm using Broadway references because i'm not familiar with London theaters. |
