I've looked around and can't seem to find an answer to this question. (apologizes if it's clearly posted somewhere and I can't find it) But has there been any reason given from The Broadway League as to why they only wanted some marquees dimmed? Are there any sort of rules, official or otherwise, that are supposed to have guided their decision?
