I don’t know enough about film to ever try anything involving altering Hollywood careers. The main problems with my interfering time traveler saving performers from early deaths or mishaps include access and, in the case of those who need medical intervention, convincing them to take the drugs from a dude who’s not a doctor, but a producer-director-songwriter. The one that he might have been able to pull off was disabling Bessie Smith’s car in 1937, but I had to keep the focus on Broadway.

So no sequels right now. I am trying to whip 113,000 words of nonfiction on JUMBO into submission status. I also have a short story, expanding on what happened when I have Gershwin face off against the HUAC, that needs revising. I also played around with the notion that my time traveler, who would most likely not still be alive in the late nineties, left some kind of word with the descendants of some other characters with explicit instructions to be delivered to one Jonathan Larson…

But maybe, maybe there could be more…

Laura in LA, grateful for the kind words
