| And - I've said it before - Norma's two big songs are as generic Webber popera ballad as they can be - in of itself they are not bad songs, but they really could be sung by anyone, they don't feel specifically Norma Desmond. I really wish ALW had thought more about musically characterizing her differently - a woman stuck in the past could have very effectively sounded that way too. |
