The majority of actors who were nominated or won Tonys for Lead Performances from 1947 thru 1970 were billed BELOW the title, sometimes followed by the word "Starring", other times followed by the word "with".
I can recall at least a couple of times where actors (during this period), billed above the title, were then placed in featured categories when nominated for the Tony. |
