| I saw Ben Platt at the Palace last night and it was a mesmerizing experience. The woman next to me couldn't contain her enthusiasm for him after seeing the show. Before it started she didn't seem that excited to be there, but afterwards she said, "I am downloading his new album immediately and will never miss going to any of his shows." I felt like I was in a trance during some of his songs - his voice is stunning and very moving. I had tears in my eyes throughout a lot of the songs. It was a wonderful experience and I am being especially clear about how great it was because I read so many negative things about people in All That Chat's opinion of him. He came across as humble, sweet, caring and knowing how lucky he was to have the chance to sing at the Palace. He was very much about the audience's enjoyment and transparent about his struggles in his life embracing his sexuality. It was a celebration and a stunning evening. Leslie Odom Jr. came on stage and they sang a Simon and Garfunkel song The Sound of Silence. |
