| On the other hand, dimming the marquees is one tradition that signals a Broadway community, acting in concert, out of respect for those who have made a difference, whether onstage or off. Do we really want to argue that Maggie Smith didn't have enough appearances or behaved ungenerously, or that Ken Page didn't play enough venues, to be deserving of a minute's consideration? That seems sadly petty. | |
