I'm not very impressed with anyone's work on Moulin Rouge on Broadway. As far as my experience with it went, it did very little to translate everything you describe in Baz's film, and more, to the stage version... I'd go as far as to say it was a total failure at that.
It's wonderful that people have enjoyed it so much... but I don't get it. (FWIW my relationship to the movie is being blown away in the movie theater when it came out as a teen, and then never quite being able to get through it again, so while I loved it, and treasure my first experience with the movie, i came to find it quite obnoxious and overbearing, and I do not have a precious relationship with it at all).

But god... to have to chose between Moulin Rouge and Jagged Little Pill... not a choice I'd wish on any Tony voter.
