I for one am hoping that I are actually doing GYPSY, as is. Its one of the great musicals, with a very very fine (And long) book. The Pearl Bailey/Cab Calloway was mounted to reverse slumping sales. and It did. Link below to an interesting Life Magazine article about the Bailey/Calloway DOLLY. Whihc was not rewritten for Miss Bailey - although she ad libbed - as did cChanning. (And also did part of her club act at the end of the curtain call, with the entire cast standing onstage watching)
