This is normal for shows to close by end of year. Even before covid, it was around 3 musicals that survive beyond new years. Usually the tony winner and a popular musical and maybe the revival. This year is outsiders (Tony winner), Hell’s Kitchen (the popular new musical) and cabaret (the revival). Plus great gatsby is still doing good business. Stuffs could be a fifth but I doubt it. That’s a pretty healthy season of survivors. The odd item post Covid is best winner musical not recouping (strange loop and KimberlyA). But it does look like outsiders will recoup. |
